Sharp Shirter Summer

This has by far been the busiest summer in Sharp Shirter history. We've been traveling up and down the East Coast doing festivals anywhere from DC up to Rochester NY. Thanks so much to all the people that came out to show their support and buy something violent from us. If you'd like us to do an event in your area feel free to hit us up if you think we'd be a good fit - dan@sharpshirter.com

Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie

We just recovered from the Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie festival that we sponsored outside the 9:30 club. We had a two day blast of good vibes and good music and we want to thank all of you that came through our booth on the way in. Here's us chillin' with Dave, the show organizer and the bouncer dude (from right to left). Photo by Eddie Diego.
What a violent group of t-shirts! What'll these kids think of next? A panda slapping a tourist?

A New Champion is Born!

After a heated FB battle Rachel Kiserman's Dude in Subway submission clenched the victory as "The New Face of the Haymaker"

For victory celebration, Rachel has requested our Octohug t-shirt aka When Animals Attack Part 9
In other news, we received a late submission for the Haymaker contest coming from Chris Malmberg:
I got a feeling like this one might take the cake when we re-open votes for a new champion.

A Call to Arms

With the Spring season underway, we're beginning to get booked up with show dates across the East Coast. This being the case, we're looking to hire part-time workers, especially in DC.

Here's what we're looking for:

1. Must have a car (I can fit the entire setup into my Honda Fit).

2. Must be available for weekend dates. Almost all of our shows happen on Saturday/Sunday

3. Prior retail experience is a plus. You will be dealing with real people...

4. Having an iPhone is a major plus (we can set you up to take credit cards on our plan)

If you're interested, please follow up with us: sharpshirter@gmail.com with the subject title "Hiring"

A couple weeks ago, Will and I spent some time doing an interview for American University's Cara Kelly. She just finished editing the footage, and here it is:

Colbert Report

Last week I headed up to Brooklyn to visit Morgan Lappin, the creator of the Detectives t-shirt. His cousin happens to be the producer of the Colbert Report, and Morgan was kind enough to swing us some tix for the show. I wasn't expecting anything more than to be a fan in the audience, but since Morgan's family there, we got a tour of the entire studio. We swung by Colbert's actual office and I was pretty pumped to see his Lord of the Rings pinball machine.
I left a Haymaker for Colbert on the desk, so fingers crossed for seeing it on the show sometime.
Before the filming started, we got our 15 minutes of fame in the Colbert Throne. Here's me and Morgan doing our thing

The show was hilarious and it was pretty cool to know jokes that the rest of the world wouldn't be hearing for another 4 hours. I can't wait to head up there again for another screening.

We have been tattooed!

Over two years ago we were contacted by a customer named Marco from Portugal. He wanted out Captain Octopus image sent to him so that he could tattoo it onto his arm. We thought he never got around to it, but we just got an email in from him today with this image.Awesome!! Now whenever I'm blue I can feel some comfort knowing that one of my images is forever tattooed to a customer.

Escaping Reality on my wall

For my birthday, all I really wanted was to get Mathiole's Escaping Reality design up on my wall. My buddies @ Music Skins were kind enough to help me make it into a 5 foot vinyl sticker. Check this out

The original Natural Beauty Design

It's always nice to look back on original designs and see how they changed over time. When Huebucket first showed me his Natural Beauty design it looked like this

My immediate reaction was that it could be simpler and more elegant if we toned it down to 1-color image. Then, my printers put in their two cents and suggested that we use metallic foil ink to give it a nice shimmer without looking tacky or cheap. I love how things turned out
